Sometimes you just know.

When Nestor was a five year old growing up in the Bronx, he knew he wanted to be a soldier.

“As soon as I graduated high school I tried to enlist.” No one in Nestor’s family had ever been in the military.  “My parents suggested that I try college first. I went to City University of New York/Lehman College.  I was undeclared but was leaning towards psychology.  I attended for 2 years, but I didn’t enjoy the experience, so I enlisted.”

Apparently Nestor was a pretty self-aware five-year old. He became a 19K Armor Crewman on an M1A1 Battle Tank, scoring 998 points out of a possible 1000 points as a New Tank Commander during tank qualification. He retired from the military, is married with a girl and two boys, and lives in Queens, New York.

So what is next for Nestor? He’s studying audio technology at SAE Institute in New York, a creative media arts college, and plans to have a career in professional audio engineering.
