Program Overview

The Digital Filmmaking Bachelor's of Applied Science degree program focuses on the foundations of technical competency using industry appropriate software and equipment, and is designed to get students into the industry in as few as 32 months.

The Digital Filmmaking degree program is an intensive practical and theoretical training program that prepares students to become successful in today’s media production industry. Students attending this program have the opportunity to learn both the technical and creative components of filmmaking as well as the essential business principles of the entertainment industry.

Tuition may be paid by cash, check, money order, or bank transfer. SAE Expression College also offers monthly payment plans with no interest or finance charges. These payments comply with state and federal requirements.

Class Schedule

126 Credit Hours / 32 Months

SAE Expression College is available to students and staff on a 24-hour basis. Access to all studios, labs, audio and video suites, Meyer Performance Hall, library and classrooms is subject to the booking process of the SAE Expression College Master Scheduler. Access to offices, copy room, and all building maintenance and storage rooms is not available to students.

Most classes occur between the hours of 8:00AM - 11:00PM. However, labs may periodically be scheduled outside of these hours. Distance education courses are asynchronous. The labs and facilities are open for student use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For every 15 contact hours of theory class, students are awarded 1 semester credit. For every 30 hour of lab class, students are awarded 1 semester credit. For 45 contact hours of internship, students are awarded 1 semester credit.
