5 Things You Should Know Before Applying at SAE Institute

You chose SAE Institute as the right education to make your passion your profession. You decided on the program. You’ve even chosen your campus. But…now what?

We have assembled 5 handy tips that will help you with applying at SAE Institute. See you on campus!

What prior education do I need to be considered for the program?

All prospective students have to successfully complete the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam (Wonderlic SLE-Q) and to provide proof of graduation in form of a high school diploma, GED completion certificate. International applicants will also need to prove their proficiency in English.

Depending on the program, you will also need to meet our technical standards. Candidates for our audio programs for example must possess adequate sensory ability to apply fundamental audio production methods and techniques, whilst entertainment business candidates have to be able to understand and apply fundamental business, management, and entrepreneurial concepts, models, and practices to the entertainment industry.

What documentation do I need for applying at sae institute?

We pride ourselves on making the admissions process straightforward. You will need to:

  • Provide us with a government-issued photo identification
  • Be at least 17 years old
  • Provide proof of graduation in form of a high school diploma, GED completion certificate
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, or provide proof of an appropriate student visa. (International candidates have to meet additional requirements.)
  • Once accepted, you will have to sign a legally binding Enrollment Agreement.

Check our website for more information on admission requirements.

When is the application deadline?

We believe that everyone has the right to prepare themselves for the career of their dreams without having to wait for strict deadlines. That’s why we accept applications on an ongoing basis. Applying earlier is always better, however, to give yourself and the admissions representative time to evaluate your candidacy before classes start!

Seats in our programs are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can I transfer to SAE Institute from another institution?

In one word: maybe!

If you have formerly attended a post-secondary institution that has been accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, you may be granted transfer credit for equivalent courses taken at the previous institution. SAE Institute students may also transfer between SAE Institute campuses. The transfer process can sometimes be complicated but we have representatives available to help you and see if you qualify. Get in touch with our team for more information.

Does SAE Institute grant financial assistance?

We offer financial assistance via Federal Student Aid to those who qualify. We also accept GI Bill® Veteran Funding for veterans who qualify. Select campuses may offer additional federal aid. In addition, we also accept credit-based student loans from third-party companies.

You can find more information on financial assistance on our website.
