Morgan Sayers, Instructor

A. Morgan Sayers is an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago with formal training and practice in both studio, media, and sound arts with a background in exhibition design, curating, and experience working in the higher education industry. This unique combination of skills in both traditional and contemporary methods of making, designing, and educating has led her to create a portfolio of work that often uses media but is ultimately devoted to craft and the balance of process and concept in both two and three-dimensional realms.

Sayers received her BFA in Studio Art from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2009 and MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts & Media from Columbia College Chicago in 2016. Before her time at Columbia College, she worked as an exhibition designer, curator, and teaching assistant for Virginia Tech’s School Of Visual Arts. Her work has been included in group exhibitions in Chicago and throughout the East Coast, and she was the featured artist in shows such as Fashion and the Female at The Arts Center of Greenwood, SC. Sayers has work in public and private collections, including the Capitol One Permanent Collection in Richmond, VA, and most recently guest curated the SAE student exhibition “Let’s Stand for Something or We’ll Fall for Anything” at the Armory Gallery at Virginia Tech.
