SAE Institute Atlanta Welcomes Patrick Preston as Audio Program Chair

SAE Institute Atlanta is proud to welcome Patrick Preston as the new Audio Program Chair, bringing more than 15 years of experience in higher education, music production, studio operations, and creative leadership to the campus.

Patrick joins SAE Institute Atlanta with a strong combination of academic achievement and real-world industry experience. He holds a Master of Music in Music Production from Berklee College of Music and a Bachelor of Science in Music Production from Full Sail University. He is also currently pursuing a Doctor of Music Education at Liberty University, reflecting his ongoing commitment to education and professional growth.

A Grammy-nominated musician and two-time Producer of the Year honoree, Patrick has built a career that bridges the classroom and the studio. His professional accomplishments provide students with valuable insight into today’s music and audio industries, while his passion for mentorship helps prepare aspiring audio professionals for success.

Patrick is also no stranger to higher education. He has previously served as Adjunct Faculty at both SAE Institute and American Intercontinental University, where he developed curriculum, mentored students and faculty, and created opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals. His student-centered approach aligns with SAE Institute’s commitment to hands-on learning and career-focused education.

In addition to his teaching experience, Patrick is the Founder and Creative Director of Patrick Preston Music, a professional recording and creative consulting company. His expertise spans industry-standard tools and workflows, including Pro Tools, Ableton Live, large-format recording consoles, and live sound production. His professional affiliations include the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), NAMM, and BMI, among others.

As Audio Program Chair, Patrick will provide both the day-to-day leadership and long-term strategic direction for SAE Institute Atlanta’s Audio program. He will oversee program faculty, technology, and studio facilities while helping to foster an engaging learning environment that supports student retention, satisfaction, and success. His leadership will play a key role in ensuring the program continues to deliver a high-quality, industry-focused education that prepares graduates for careers in audio.
