SAE Institute of Technology Miami welcomed music makers from across the industry on August 22 for IMSTA FESTA Miami, a one-day celebration of music technology, creativity, and collaboration. The campus has proudly hosted IMSTA FESTA multiple times over the years, with each event bringing together music professionals, emerging artists, students, educators, and technology enthusiasts for a day of learning, networking, and creative connection.
This year’s free event featured panels, workshops, master classes, demonstrations, song reviews, exhibits, giveaways, and opportunities to connect face-to-face with some of the industry’s leading professionals. Once again, IMSTA FESTA delivered a successful day of education and collaboration for the South Florida audio community.
Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to explore exhibits, interact with music technology companies, participate in educational sessions, and connect with industry experts. Exhibits also gave attendees the chance to enter raffle drawings for full-version software, while the IMSTA Master Class Series offered additional opportunities to learn from leading professionals, with giveaways featured in every class.
The IMSTA Panel Series provided another opportunity for attendees to hear directly from experienced voices in the music industry while building connections with other creatives.
The event also featured free song reviews, giving participants the chance to receive professional feedback on their work. Attendees met one-on-one with experts for critiques and had the opportunity to earn a Wild Card entry into the IMSTA songwriting competition.
One of the highlights of IMSTA FESTA was the lineup of accomplished music professionals who shared their experience and expertise throughout the event.
Guests included:
- Jimmy Douglass, 4x GRAMMY-winning recording engineer and producer
- Javier Valverde, GRAMMY-winning recording and mixing engineer
- Supa Dups, GRAMMY-winning multi-platinum producer and DJ
- Dave Kerzner, world-renowned keyboardist, sound designer, and synthesist
- Drea Tomé, collaborating songwriter on a Latin GRAMMY-winning album
- Quaz DeVille, Latin GRAMMY-winning engineer, producer, and songwriter
- Johnny Mars, music executive, producer, A&R, and publisher
Their collective experience represented the many different paths within today’s music industry, giving attendees the opportunity to learn from professionals working across recording, production, songwriting, technology, publishing, and more.
The continued success of IMSTA FESTA reflects the value of creating spaces where music makers can learn from one another, explore new technology, share their work, and build meaningful professional connections. With another successful event in the books, SAE Institute looks forward to continuing this partnership with events at other campuses, including IMSTA FESTA Atlanta at SAE Institute Atlanta on September 26th.
Special thanks to the entire IMSTA organization, and the Miami campus faculty and staff led by Campus Director Jerry Rivera.
