On Friday, December 8th, 2023, SAE Institute Atlanta alongside Creative Space Events brought together a panel discussion with top music producers, Needlz, Drumma Boy, and Fuse from 808 Mafia.
The event, called Creative Convos, allowed students, alumni, and fellow music lovers to learn and interact with the producers during the day-long session.
The discussions focused on a range of topics including “Achieving and Maintaining Success in the Music Industry” and allowed the guest speakers to expand on their personal experiences working with major artists and on award-winning projects.
The event was hosted by Creative Space founder, Jason ‘J Hatch’ Hadshian who is a music industry veteran himself with over 30 years of experience working with music makers in various capacities.
Guest speaker Khari Cain, better known as “Needlz”, is a multi-platinum, multi-Grammy award-winning producer. He has worked with top talent such as Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Drake, Coi Leray, Jeremih, PNB Rock, Lay Bankz, 50 Cent, and more.
Guest speaker Christopher Gholson, better known as “Drumma Boy”, is best known for working with Atlanta rap legends T.I., Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Ludacris, 2 Chainz, and more. He has also produced countless hit records for Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.
Guest speaker Fuse is a multi-platinum music producer and VP of record production and songwriting team, 808 Mafia. Fuse has produced songs for Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, Migos, Young Thug & many more of Atlanta’s top artists.
“I’m really happy with the way this event allowed students to gain valuable insight into what they’re currently learning through the success of these engineers and producers,” says SAE Institute Audio Program Chair and event co-organizer Lamarr Miller. “They were able to ask questions, learn about different approaches to success within the industry, and most importantly gain an understanding that with hard work and dedication, you can be successful in your career. We’re happy to have partnered with J-Hatch and Creative Space for this Creative Convo series and look forward to providing more opportunities like this for our students in the future.”
