SAE Institute Students organize women in audio group

SAE Institute New York Career Services Department is proud to announce the first ever female-led audio group, Women in Audio (WIA). WIA was established by the female student population on the New York campus, whose goal is to empower each other as they navigate the audio industry. According to the Recording Academy® six women have been nominated for Producer Of The Year, though as of yet, no women have taken home the award.

SAE Institute Career Services Advisor, Molly Monahan, explains, the goal of WIA is to encourage change and student support! “Women In Audio started as many empowerment groups do, from a grassroots effort. The strong and talented females at SAE Institute asked to partner with female staff to organize a Women’s Group here on campus,” explains Molly.

January 28th, the ladies hosted their first on-campus meeting for WIA members and will continue to meet every other Wednesday. The group will build off an inclusive and collaborative approach, where everyone has the chance to voice their own ideas and opinions. Working together, WIA plans to achieve their goals together and support one another as they advance in their audio careers.

“It’s so important for our students to feel empowered and know they can succeed. Having WIA here in New York will allow the students to feel connected, supported and most importantly, heard,” added Hilary Rosen, Career Services Manager. “We are really excited to get started!”
