SAE Institute of Technology Nashville is proud to announce the appointment of Nicolas Hosford as the new Director of Education. An accomplished educator, artist, and producer, Hosford brings over 15 years of experience at the intersection of music, education, and production to the campus.
Hosford has served on the faculty at SAE Institute Nashville for the past five years, where he has made significant contributions to curriculum development and student success initiatives. In his new role, he will manage all campus academic programs on a practical day-to-day and strategic long-term basis, as well as all aspects of academic programs’ operation and success, including oversight of instruction, retention, and student outcomes.
Throughout his career, Hosford has demonstrated a passion for teaching and program development. He has taught guitar, music production, audio engineering, and music business at various institutions, including Grand Rapids Community College, where he notably built the music business curriculum. He also co-founded and co-directed Rock Camp, a statewide commercial music initiative in Michigan developed in partnership with Michigan State University and other organizations.
Beyond education, Hosford is an accomplished artist and producer. He is the founding member and music director of Outer Vibe, an original music group that released multiple albums and performed over 1,100 shows across the U.S. and Canada. His video productions have garnered more than 3 million views on YouTube, and he currently continues to create and perform as a solo artist and as part of the alt-rock duo ADD | OCD.
“I’m incredibly honored to step into the role of Director of Education at SAE Institute Nashville,” says Hosford. “This opportunity allows me to support and inspire the next generation of creative professionals while continuing to elevate the academic experience. I’m excited to work alongside such talented students and staff as we push the boundaries of audio education, excellence, and industry relevance.”
