SAE Institute North America Supports Students, Staff and Faculty with New GM and COO

Since 1976 SAE Institute has been providing creative media education to students across the globe. Our mission is to help aspiring professionals prepare for positions in the creative media and entertainment industries. To better support campuses in the US and Canada to achieve this mission, SAE Institute has appointed a new General Manager and COO of our North American campuses—Jake Elsen.

At our campuses in Atlanta, Chicago, Emeryville, Miami, Nashville, New York, and Vancouver, we provide educational programs built on industry-standard best practices taught in real-world environments, with experienced faculty supporting our students through a dynamic curriculum delivered in an engaging, diverse, and creative environment.

Jake comes to us with nearly 20 years of higher education leadership experience in the areas of marketing, admissions, student success, finance, and campus operations. Jake holds a Master’s in Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Prior to joining SAE Institute North America, Jake has held several leadership roles within SAE Institute’s parent company Navitas. Most recently, serving as U.S. COO and Vice President of Marketing and Recruitment with the Navitas University Partnerships division in North America.

In addition to his time within our larger organization, he gained experience with University of Phoenix, Kaplan Higher Education Campuses, and Career Education Corporation. Jake has a passion for serving others and helping students on their journey to be the best, most authentic version of themselves.

When asked about the decision to bring Jake on board, SAE Global’s Executive General Manager, Matthew Evans said, “I’m delighted to welcome Jake to such a critical role at SAE. His leadership and education sector experience, both within Navitas and beyond, make him the perfect fit. With Jake’s appointment, we now have a full bench of talented leaders across all of SAE’s global regions. I have every confidence that Jake will thrive in the SAE Global community and reinvigorate our North American operations.”

Jake joined the SAE Institute team in December 2020, jumping in headfirst to ensure students continue to receive the same high quality, practice-based education despite these unprecedented times. We look forward to the continued progress we’re able to experience as an organization through his leadership.
