SAE Institute of Technology Nashville recently announced an exciting partnership with music-focused live-streaming platform, Volume.com. The collaboration, called “Live @ SAE Institute” is a series of sessions featuring some of the music industry’s prominent talents and musicians, recording live from the campus’s very own studio facilities.
The series, which launched last month at the Nashville campus, aims to fuse music, education, and entertainment, and will also showcase some of the behind-the-scenes elements of live-stream productions.
AN INDUSTRY CONNECTION
The first session, held on October 18th, featured the Nashville-based super-group trio of Coffin / Perlson / Krauss.
The trio first started playing together in 2020 and is the brainchild of three virtuosic musical masters: renowned saxophonist Jeff Coffin, accomplished drummer Jordan Perlson, and bass legend Viktor Krauss.
Jeff Coffin is a 3x Grammy Award-winning saxophonist (Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones). Jordan Perlson is a drummer extraordinaire (Becca Stevens, Matisyahu, Snarky Puppy, and Alison Brown). Bass legend Viktor Krauss (Lyle Lovett, Robert Plant & Allison Krauss, Bill Frisell, James Taylor). Also in attendance was special guest keyboardist Rob Burger (Tin Hat Trio, John Zorn, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello).
Fans and followers had the opportunity to tune in to the live broadcast from the comfort of their homes by claiming a free ticket on Volume.com.
A HANDS-ON LEARNING EXPERIENCE
In addition to hosting the showcase on campus, SAE Institute of Technology Nashville students had the opportunity to assist in the setup and gain valuable experience in live-streaming video and audio production. To continue to inspire and educate the music industry pros of tomorrow, more sessions are planned for future live-stream events through collaboration, providing additional opportunities for hands-on experience for SAE Institute students.
LEADERS IN ENTERTAINMENT
Volume, a pioneer in live music streaming and entertainment, is committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and education within the industry – a mission that SAE Institute has been dedicated to since the first campus opened in Australia in 1976.
A SUCCESSFUL START
Promotional efforts for the event included media placements and social media posts via both SAE Institute and Volume channels. The official Dave Mathews Band Instagram channel also helped generate buzz as it shared the event with their fanbase which boasts over 720,000 followers.
