While many SAE Institute alumni launch rewarding careers with established companies within the industry, some graduates have decided to use their education and experience to start their own companies.
We recently connected with 2015 Atlanta campus grad, Jeremy Hart, who is doing great things in Atlanta as a broadcasting A2 and through his company Hart Note Productions.
Jeremy aims to give back to the school that helped him hone his skills by collaborating on events such as the Access Granted Series held on campus this past January and February.
Follow along as he shares more about his background, what he’s working on now, and the tips he has for current students.
Tell us a little about your background. Who or what inspired you to work in the creative media space?
I’m from Winston-Salem, NC born and raised. Music played a huge factor in my life – chorus all through middle school, marching band in High School and college where I studied Professional Theatre at North Carolina A&T SU. I moved to Atlanta in 2014 trying to find my way when I stumbled across SAE Institute. In 2015, I went 100% into my media career.
How was your experience as a student at SAE Institute Atlanta?
My experience at SAE Atlanta was great! I learned so much from SAE that expanded my engineering knowledge. My teacher, Lamarr Miller, sparked my interest in engineering on my second day of class and I’ve been hungry ever since.
What’s your favorite part about being a Broadcasting A2?
My favorite part is being behind the scenes but playing a major part in how shows are aired. Also, making sure sports analysts, production, and TV are all in communication.
What can you tell us about your company and any other ventures you’re looking forward to in your career?

I’m producing two new projects this year along with Access Granted which is a panel series that gives students a backstage to the industry’s top professionals.
What advice do you have for current SAE students who are looking to follow a similar path as you?
Know what you want and go after it. Never have doubt, know that it’s a part of the process. Trust your teachers! They’ve been where you are.
